Welcome to the website of Climate-KIC, one of EIT (European Institute of Innovation and Technology) major initiatives. Climate-KIC will establish a KIC that brings together Europe's leading academic institutions and business partners to address climate change.

The Climate-KIC consortium consists of 16 core partners, five from the academic side, one regional partner, and ten from the corporate world.

The following five research and educational institutions form the academic core:

The Regional innovation and implementation community (RIC) consists of Central Hungary, Lower Silesia (Poland), Midlands (UK), Hessen (Germany), Emilia Romagna (Italy) and Valencia (Spain).

The ten corporate core partners are: Bayer, Beluga Shipping, Cisco, DSM, EDF, SAP, Schiphol Group, Shell, SolarValley, Thales.

Climate-KIC will provide the vision, technologies, people and partnerships required for Europe to make a step-change in its ability to mitigate and adapt to the challenges of climate change. It will create new jobs, strengthen industrial and regional competitiveness, and catalyze the development of self-sustaining clusters of research and innovation excellence.
